A Time To Act

To look away from the continuous violence, pain, injustice and needless death within our criminal justice system is to ignore the most pressing issue of our times. Voices and injustices from communities of color that have been silenced for far too long are finally seeing the light of day on a national scale through courageous storytelling and bold activism. It is painfully clear that continued inaction for criminal justice reform is completely inexcusable and untenable. How we listen, learn, support and help create meaningful change for people of color that have experienced violence, injustice and racism is an important decision we must all make for ourselves.

I have chosen to focus my energy on supporting the work of Bryan Stevenson and The Equal Justice Initiative. In May I committed to donating 10% of all revenue to EJI for the next 3 months. I am making a new commitment to matching any donations to EJI dollar for dollar up until $500 through the end of August. To avoid multiple transaction fees, you can donate directly to EJI and send me your confirmation receipt. Swans Nest will make a donation at the end of August for the sum amount of donations made up to $500.

May we find that Truth, Justice, Reform, Unity in Diversity and Peace ultimately prevail.
