I’m just a guy on the spiritual path and believe we all are. I’m here to share my experience, share my knowledge of yoga, build an institution that is beneficial to people, and try to experience as much joy and love as I can from here on out. The three adages below have become helpful mantras of mine. I’ve got like 7 zillion spiritual books at The Nest. Come hang out and find something that resonates with you. I look forwarding to continuing this journey alongside you.
1) “Truth is One, Paths Are Many”. - the Rig Veda, an ancient Hindu scripture. There is one energy that underlies everything and created everything. Different religions and people call it by different names, but it’s all the same thing.
2) “We’re all just walking each other home” - Ram Dass. We’re all looking for wholeness, meaning, purpose, love. Home is our source, that which we call God.
3) “Slay the Dragon, Be The Swan” - me, your boy, Swan. The dragon is our ego, our separate sense of self. The Swan is the soul, our individual expression of the whole. When we align with our soul we are set free.
Life is crazy. It’s dark and messy and confusing and filled with pain and suffering and doubt. And it’s also beautiful, full of love and music and dancing and friendship and off-color jokes and nights of too many drinks and the simple pleasures of a good cigar, a slice of pizza and a glass of red wine, or flirtatious banter over text with a new romance.
